Audrey
Sounds like a stressful time for you.
I of of people where I work in the organisation with ms and ra.
They have gone to tribuneral and been "paid off" just before they gone to court. They still all work there, but it is about the way they are treated with their illnesses.
They have signed to say they can't disclose the closure or financial monies they have received.
I say good luck to them!!!
I have not had the need to do this, or not at any stage of uncapable at my job etc yet.
Earlier on in the year, I did something I have not done before.
I went down a "bullying" route with a colleague, took to stage 2.
Really stressful, felt awful for doing it. My aim was to have this behaviour logged with human resources and stopped. The person involved had an answer for all my points when questioned.
My superviser was weak, did not want to get involved and did not want to investigate in depth.
Other people have been subject of bullying and all too afraid of reporting it.
I did not go sick or make any scene during the procress or after.......she has had a gentle telling off. Kept her job to cause trouble another day. The good thing is I've shown her don't pick on me or I do something!!
No one at work knows I have ra, only occ health and management and the guy who representated unison for me.
When it came to me having my first op for ra things (foot) it taught me that I really needed the time off and relax, recharge my batteries. I had 3 months off, in pain but away from office madness!
I came back to work this week to face the person that bullied me for a long time, she trying to be my friend but I'm not interested.
At least I have 2 more operations to offer me another time off!!!
I love my job, but its awful when you are caught up with the politics of it. Next time I'm off sick and return I will be on an action plan and be in trouble.......ra taught me to let things go (and to smile more).
Audrey,
I hope you have come out the other side relieved? What a terrible time it must of been.
Take care, thinking of you.
Jane
